We have created two slot machines or fruit machines using Visual Basic 6. Slot machine is a game of chance so we need to use the concept of randomization. Devlog
This game was an exercise in juice and basic interaction design. I used screenshake, controller rumble, sound effect changes, and visual flares to create the feeling of flow that a slot machine puts a player in. The game's design was inspired the NYU Game Center Lecture Series talk by Natasha Dow Schüll titled Addiction by Design and the visual design was inspired by the poster for the event illustrated by choo. I specifically made the game start to break after enough play to rip the player out of the flow state they start to develop in order to provide a commentary on the addiction created by these slot machine designers. I am not very proud to have made a slot machine but I think it's a worthwhile exercise to understand how powerful juice can be in a play experience.

The World Cup slot game was developed by Amigotechs, and it picks the same visual appearance as the other games from this software developer. The icons used are a star, a cherry, and much more. The gamble was inspired by the World Cup 2014 event, a football fete that happens once in four years.

- Bet 40 – this option is much more alike to the latter and allows for wagering using a minimum of 40 coins. The hallmark is the nudge function. They are utilized for a moderate shift for the top reels after a swirl on the condition there is a winning combination within 3 steps. On the condition that the bankroll goes below the 40 mark, bettors can top up from the credit bank using the start button. To get back to either of the two modes, gamblers can use the “Choose Game” button.
